Because of Kuwait’s somewhat tenuous history, there is not much in the way of classical literature originating there. Kuwait has, in recent years, produced several prominent contemporary writers.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=https://chronicle.fanack.com/kuwait/society-media-culture/culture/literature/ )〕 There is also evidence that Kuwaiti culture has long been interactive with English and French literature.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.kuna.net.kw/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=1897106&language=en )〕 Some of the translators include Yaqoub Al-Hamad, Fathil Khalaf, poet Suleiman Al-Khulaifi, and Mahmoud Tawfeeq Ahmad who translated a number of short French plays by Molière.〔(【引用サイトリンク】url=http://www.kuna.net.kw/ArticleDetails.aspx?id=1897106&language=en )〕 ==Writers== * Ismail Fahd Ismail (born 1940) was one of the first Kuwaiti writers to be taken seriously in the Arab world.
